UP Association for Science and Technology Advancement and Regional Science City in association with all the leading institutions such as NBRI, CDRI, IITR, Cimap, BSIP, Biotech Park, NRLC and Indian Nanoscience Society etc will be celebrating the National Science day from February 22 to February 28 at Regional Science City here.

A number of students, teachers and researchers from various schools, colleges, universities, engineering and research Centers are expected to participate in the programmes.

National Science Day is observed every year on February 28 to commemorate the novel discovery of ‘Raman Effect’ by an Indian Nobel physicist Sir CV Raman.

The 99th Raising Day of the Corps of Signals was celebrated with characteristic enthusiasm in Cantonment here on Monday. On this occasion, Lt Gen JK Mohanty, GOC-in-C, Central Command, conveyed his warm wishes to all combatants, civilian staff, veterans and their families.

To mark the occasion, a wreath laying ceremony was also held at ‘Smritika’, the Central Command War Memorial in memory of the soldiers who had laid down their lives in the defense of the country.

Addressing the officers, junior commissioned officers (JCOs) and jawans of the Central Command, Major General Sunit Kumar, Chief Signal Officer, Central Command, said that it was a sustained hard work, indomitable spirit and devotion to duty, demonstrated by each personnel of the Corps which had brought glory to the Corps in all its endeavors.
