Rupees 5 Crores Garland for Mayawati
Mayawati has been presented with a giant garland strung together with 1000
rupees notes which is estimated to contain 50000 notes, making the value of the garland to huge Rupees 5 crores, during the maharally called by BSP on Monday for celebrating the birth ceremony of founder Kanshiram.
Security Arrangement Tight for BSP Maharally
Uttar Pradesh Police with the help of intelligence units is arranging very stiff
security during the event.
Four DIG level officers will supervise law and order on the rally day, while 20 ASPs, 70 DSPs, 800 Sis and 4000 constables will be deployed for smooth conduct of the rally and security of monuments.
30 companies of PAC, 11 anti sabotage squads and 11 anti mining units will also be deployed to tackle and critical situation.
Samajwadi Party Alleged misuse of government funds
SP, the opposition party in Uttar Pradesh has alleged BSP on misusing
government funds for the preparation of BSP Maharally to be held on Monday and demanded and enquiry.
Opposition parties SP and Congress are singing the same song on the issue.
SP spokesman Rajendra Chaudhary said that government funds to the tune of Rupees 100 crores have been misused. He also claimed that around 6500 buses, including 1600 state roadways buses has been arranged to ferry BSP workers and supporters from all over the state.
On the other hand, Congress spokesman Subodh Srivastava charged BSP government with not only misusing public money but also state machinery. “While massive power cuts are being done all over the state, even during the ongoing board exams, huge amount of electricity is being wasted in decorations,” he said.

CM reiterated commitment against terror
The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh addressed a press conference on Monday
and showed the commitment of the state government against terror. She also demanded the central government to take strict action against anti social elements.
The CM said that the state government had already switched to damage control mode after receiving the Center’s warning that Kanpur was also on the radar of the ultras, along with other targeted cities Indore and New Delhi. The additional director general (Law and Order) had left for Kanpur on Sunday to monitor the situation, she said, and added that the ADG had held an official briefing and taken stock of the situation.
The law enforcement machinery has already been put on the alert and all necessary precautions are being taken, she said.

Corps of Signals celebrated 99th Raising Day
The 99th Raising Day of the Corps of Signals was celebrated with
characteristic enthusiasm in Cantonment here on Monday. On this occasion, Lt Gen JK Mohanty, GOC-in-C, Central Command, conveyed his warm wishes to all combatants, civilian staff, veterans and their families.
To mark the occasion, a wreath laying ceremony was also held at ‘Smritika’, the Central Command War Memorial in memory of the soldiers who had laid down their lives in the defense of the country.
Addressing the officers, junior commissioned officers (JCOs) and jawans of the Central Command, Major General Sunit Kumar, Chief Signal Officer, Central Command, said that it was a sustained hard work, indomitable spirit and devotion to duty, demonstrated by each personnel of the Corps which had brought glory to the Corps in all its endeavors.
