It is a very well saying in India “Evil doers have very short life”, this proverb is proving right in the case of alleged don Mukhtar Ansari who turned politician.
First his cousin Afzal Ansari was expelled from his party BSP by its chief and Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Ms. Mayawati and now Slapping of Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA) by Delhi Police.
Ansari has been charged under the stringent section 3 and 4 of MCOCA.
Delhi Police took this step after Munna Bajrangi, a sharp shooter from Uttar Pradesh and prime accused in the murder of BJP MLA Krishnanand Rai, confessed that he eliminated Rai at Ansari’s Residence.
Bajrangi and his men have been accused of carrying out several killings of businessmen and politicians at the instance of Ansaris who allegedly run an extortion racket spread across UP, Bihar and Delhi.
Ansari’s main mafia activity is in coal mining, railway construction and scrap disposal, Public Works construction, and the illicit liquor business. He faced stiff competition from another UP Don Brajesh Singh.
In 2001 Singh ambushed Ansari’s convoy on the Mau-Lucknow highway. In the shootout that followed, Mukhtar Ansari lost three of his key men and Singh was critically injured and declared dead soon after.
Ansari was then hailed as the undisputed king of eastern UP. Singh was arrested in January 2008 from Orissa by Delhi Police where he was running a real estate business.
