Lucknow Sweating with Sudden Temperature Rise

The effect of global warming is now fairly visible not only in the glaciers but plains also.

The sudden heat waves pushed the mercury soaring in the state making life miserable and breaking all the records of heat in the month of March.

Varanasi was hottest in UP with 42 degrees Celsius maximum temperature, which was nine degrees above normal. It was followed by Agra with 41 degrees Celsius and Allahabad 40.3 degrees Celsius. Lucknow recorded 38.9 degrees Celsius, a degree higher than Sunday and six degrees above normal. Gorakhpur recorded 38.2 degrees Celsius and Bareilly 36.9 degrees Celsius. Maximum temperatures in most places in the state ranged between 36-40 degrees Celsius.
