The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh addressed a press conference on Monday and showed the commitment of the state government against terror. She also demanded the central government to take strict action against anti social elements.

The CM said that the state government had already switched to damage control mode after receiving the Center’s warning that Kanpur was also on the radar of the ultras, along with other targeted cities Indore and New Delhi. The additional director general (Law and Order) had left for Kanpur on Sunday to monitor the situation, she said, and added that the ADG had held an official briefing and taken stock of the situation.

The law enforcement machinery has already been put on the alert and all necessary precautions are being taken, she said.
